Nearly 300 Vietnam and Singapore businesses participated in the Vietnam-Singapore Business Forum 2011 from 30 November to 2 December 2011, at Crowne Plaza West Hanoi Hotel. Hosted by the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), the event is supported by Singapore Business Federation, International Enterprise Singapore, International Women’s Federation of Commerce and Industry, Singapore, Vietnam Association of Real Estate, Vietnam Business Forum Magazine and event organiser Salient Media.
The real estate sector attracted the most Singapore participants with positive presence of the Singapore's leading real estate businesses like Capitaland, Savills International, Keppel Land, and Sembcorp, alongside many large corporations in Vietnam such as VinGroup, Kinh Bac Urban Development Corporation, BRG Group, Archi Group, Sao Dat Vietnam.
At the forum, leaders of the ministries, economic experts and Vietnam and Singapore entrepreneurs updated the macroeconomic situation and investment environment in Vietnam. Participants heard about practical business opportunities and challenges of doing business in Singapore and Vietnam. On the second day, the Forum focused on intensive panel discussions on 4 key topics including: financial services, real estate and property management services, executive education as well as manufacturing and supply chain management. Participants had the opportunity to visit several industrial zones on Day Three, including Kinh Bac Urban Development Corporation, Que Vo Industrial Park, and the Vietnam Singapore Industrial Park (VSIP). The forum also featured exhibition booths by participating enterprises showcasing their achievements, products and services. Participants had the opportunity to learn and explore cooperation opportunities among enterprises from both countries.
Two MoUs were signed during the event namely the agreement between International Women’s Federation of Commerce and Industry (IWFCI) Singapore, and the Hanoi Association of Business Women (HNEW), and the one between Mercatus Capital of Singapore and Vietnam Business Forum magazine of VCCI.
