Exhibition on 10-year Achievements of Mekong Delta: Opportunity for Investment Attraction
On December 13, 2011, the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee coordinated with the Steering Committee for the Southwest Region to organise a press conference to introduce an exhibition on the 10-year achievements in the Mekong Delta in commemoration of the 37th National Reunification Day (April 30).
The exhibition will be held from April 27, 2012 to May 1, 2012 in Nam Song Can Tho Urban Zone, Phu Thu Ward, Cai Rang District, Can Tho City. The exposition will have 500 - 700 booths. This event will portray 10 years of achievements in implementing Resolution 21 of the Politburo on the Mekong Delta and propose development mechanisms and policies for the next 10 years of development.
Speaking at the press conference, Deputy Prime Minister Vu Van Ninh, Head of Steering Committee for Southwest Region, said that the Mekong Delta is a key economic area in the country and a major food supplier not only for Vietnam but also for the world. He stressed that this exhibition is an important event for assessing achievements this region has attained in the past 10 years and an opportunity to introduce and attract domestic and international investors.
