VNPT Extends Postal Savings Service

Vietnam Post and Telecommunications Corporation (VNPT) plans to expand its postal savings service from 38 to 52 cities and provinces this month in an effort to make the service more popular nationwide. The number of post offices providing individual savings accounts will also increase to 166 from 151 by the end of August.

The company expects the expansion to increase the popularisation of these accounts.

There are now more than 51,000 individual savings accounts, each with an average balance of VND3.5 million.

To date, total postal savings transferred to the National Development Support Fund is more than VND8.5 billion.
