"Thailand Day" in Vietnam

The Royal Thai Embassy and Office of the Commercial Attaché in Hanoi in conjunction with Thai Airways, Melia Hotel and the Thai community in Hanoi will organise a “Thailand Day” at the Hanoi Friendship Cultural Palace on August 20-23, 2004.

The “Thailand Day” will include an exhibition in honour of Thai Queen Sirikit, the Thailand Trade Fair, Thai gastronomy and culture, and music and dances by the Nongkhai art troupe.  The programme also includes the performance of Thai boxing, fruit decoration, handicrafts of North East Thailand, a seminar on trade and investment, and a lucky draw for return tickets to Bangkok with Thai Airways.

The purpose of the “Thailand Day” is to promote trade, investment, tourism and cultural exchange between the two countries. “Thai Day” will also celebrate the 72nd anniversary of the birthday of Queen Sirikit of Thailand (August 12, 2004). According to Mr. Tawatchai Kopirom, Charge d’Affairs of the Royal Thai Embassy in Hanoi, the day is even more important as it marks the six cycles of the life (72 years) of the Queen.

Many delegations from North East Thailand will participate in the “Thailand Day” to promote partnerships with Vietnam.
