Nation Welcomes Six Millionth Visitor

A welcoming ceremony for the six millionth guest was held on December 26 in the northern city of Hạ Long, marking a successful year for the country’s tourism sector.
So far, the tourism industry has outstripped the preset target of receiving 5.5 million guests. It made spectacular progress in the last two months.
The lucky visitor was presented a free tour for two people to Danang and Hoi An ancient town.
On this occasion, Ms. Zhang Dongmei, a Chinese tourist became the 5,999,999th guest to Vietnam.
In 2011, the tourism industry provides services to 30 million domestic guests and earned VND 130,000 billion.
