Ford Motor Vietnam 2004 Programme: Protection of Environment and Cultural Heritage
On August 20 Ford Vietnam Company announced the launching of the programme for the protection of the environment and cultural heritages in 2004. The programme is in its fifth year and this year US$40,000 will be poured into the “clean production” project. The fund will help enterprises and craft villages to improve environmental protection and business efficiency.
Participants in the programme can include research and service centres involved environmental issues, organisations, businesses and individuals in Vietnam. The projects focus on the reduction of pollution in production, saving materials, reducing waste and increasing production efficiency. The registration of projects is from August 20, 2004 to September 30, 2004. Registered projects will be evaluated by a council of environmental experts. Approved projects will be submitted to the Ministry of Resources and Environment to be implemented in Vietnam. The winning projects will be announced at the ceremony in December 2004.
The programme demonstrates the long-term commitment of Ford Vietnam to the Vietnamese market and community. Vietnam is one of the first four countries in the region to be accepted into the programme. In the past four years, the programme has provided US$160,000 to 51 projects in 20 provinces and cities of Vietnam.
