A series of activities and events will be held nationwide during the Vietnam-Laos Friendship and Solidarity Year 2012 to display time-honoured and comprehensive cooperation between the two nations.
The information was announced in a meeting held on February 6. The year 2012 marks the 50th anniversary of Vietnam -Laos diplomatic ties and the 35th anniversary of the Vietnam -Laos Friendship and Cooperation Treaty.
All the events, which will take place from July to September this year, includes high-rank official visits of Vietnamese leaders to Laos, meetings to be held at the two nations’ capitals on July 18, and the exchange of congratulatory messages between leaders of two nations.
Besides, cultural activities and exchanges will also be organized by ministries, agencies and localities along with trade fairs, investment and tourist promotion forums and communication activities.
Ministries and related agencies have to closely cooperate with Lao counterparts to actively design their plans to carry out these activities, stressed Deputy PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc.
