Leading players from the international food & hospitality industry will be descending on Singapore from 17 to 20 April 2012, when the Food&HotelAsia2012 (FHA2012) and Wine&SpiritsAsia2012 (WSA2012) events come to town, organised by Singapore Exhibition Services (SES).

FHA is the biggest hospitality trade show in the region, with 2,600 exhibitors from 65 countries and regions, and over 54,000 attendees from both government and private sectors expected to attend the exhibition throughout its four-day run. FHA2012 combines five individual trade shows in one venue, with each specialised show meticulously designed to meet specific demands of various business segments in the food service and hospitality industry in Asia.

FoodAsia2012 is aimed at the F&B industry and will showcase food & drink providers from across the globe; HotelAsia2012 offers the latest in hotel equipment and services; HospitalityStyleAsia2012 is aimed at the luxury hospitality market and will introduce stylish products such as tableware, glassware, crockery and more; HospitalityTechnology2012 will be showcasing the latest in hotel technology including reservations systems, POS systems and in-room devices; and Bakery&Pastry2012 targets the growing demand in Asia for quality bakery products with a wide range of equipment and ingredients.

With Vietnam’s tourism and hospitality industry seeing rapid growth in 2011 following the global financial crisis, the shows present the perfect opportunity for Vietnamese traders and importers to navigate the wide selection of brands available from regional countries. Leading international hoteliers and supermarket brands that are targeting to expand their markets in Vietnam are also able to take this opportunity to network with Vietnamese trade players in the show. FHA2012 could also be the perfect platform for local companies to penetrate overseas market, as planned by the Vietnamese Ministry of Industry and Trade.

Besides the exhibitions, visitors will also get a chance to witness several world-class competitions such as the FHA Culinary Challenge 2012, FHA Imperial Challenge 2012, Asian Pastry Cup 2012 and FHA Barista Challenge.

“More countries in Asia are liberalising their markets to facilitate foreign trade, marking an urgent need for the food service, hospitality and travel industries to enhance their product offerings and productivity to meet growing demands arising from changing consumer habits. With a remarkable contingent of top quality industry players coming from across the globe, it is evident that the five specialised shows together will present a timely and all-inclusive trading platform for international sellers and buyers,” says Mr. Stephen Tan, Chief Executive from show organiser, Singapore Exhibition Services (SES).

Co-located with FHA2012, WSA2012 will be showcasing more than 165 wine and spirits exhibitors from over 25 different countries and regions, delivering to Asia a superior portfolio of unequalled diversity from both old and new trade players across the four show days.

The exhibition will also feature many fringe activities such as networking events and wine masterclasses which will tackle many of the key topical issues and debates surrounding the wine and spirits trade. Additionally, industry experts will be presenting seminars on subjects ranging from newest market trends to wine retailing in Asia. These special events allow established producers and new players, looking to develop a presence in the Asian market, to gain new knowledge on the industry, as well as provide a platform for the exchange of ideas and tips between professionals.

The WSA Wine Challenge 2012 will take centrestage, with the winning wines being exhibited and served for tasting at a dedicated section of the exhibition. This prestigious competition, now in its fifth edition, is organised to the highest international standards; with distinguished panel of judges comprising of reputable sommeliers, wine writers, buyers and educators. The WSA Wine Challenge will be held on 21 - 22 March 2012; a month ahead of the exhibition opening.

With over 20 Vietnamese companies and over 1,000 Vietnamese visitors witnessed at the previous edition of FHA, this is a trade exhibition definitely not to be missed. A press conference will be held at the Nikko Hotel Hanoi on 15 March to further introduce these events to Vietnam, which is one of Asia’s fastest growing food & hospitality markets.
