Consultancy Company of National University of Civil Engineering is one of enterprises located in the University of Construction and a right place of adopting new ideas, technological - scientific development and new technologies in practical construction. Furthermore, the company itself has become a link between trainings, scientific research and practical production; between lectures, experts, students of National University of Civil Engineering and Construction Projects through overall country.
 
For over 10 years, company has contributed to hundreds of projects in the construction field, such as: engineering, engineering verification, project management, construction management, project evaluation and project assessment. The company also concentrates on scientific research and applies it into projects aiming to bring better efficiency for investors. Research applications are usually implemented within the company or in cooperation with relevant field of research in the National University of Civil Engineering as well as external professional institutions. As the result, many new technologies become popular in practical construction and transferred by scientific - technological contract to customers and agencies outside the company, as well as other consultancy companies. Thus, many lessons are learned, which remain the experiences as well as advantages of the company in particular and National University of Civil Engineering in general.
 
In detail, the application of pre-stressed reinforced concrete structure in construction is one professional field of research for production. Currently, this application has become popular in Vietnam. However, a reasonable design and an accurate implementation within calculated parameters during the construction still need attention.
Since early 2000, the Company has coordinated with the Division of Reinforced Concrete Construction to do research and apply the technology in pre-stressed reinforced concrete constructions which have a large aperture or have to bear large pressure, as well as to elaborate a relatively clear design process and guidance on acceptance work. The company has also implemented a series of pre-stressed reinforced concrete constructions around country, thereby it can update useful information on the use of materials, construction work of domestic and foreign partners to finalize the design process, sometimes also helping implementing units complete the process of construction and acceptance. Another function of the Company is to transfer the design process and the user guide to many other consulting agencies. Several typical constructions that the Company has designed itself are: High-tech building E-Town 1 (put into use in 2003) and E-Town 2 (put into use in 2006) in Cong Hoa Street of Ho Chi Minh City; and Ho Chi Minh Training Center of National University of Economics (designed in 2004).
 
Another topic effectively applied by Consultancy Company of National University of Civil Engineering is “Research on application of bored cast-in-place pile with pump washing tip of pile”. The topic was researched by the company, and after acceptance of Department of Science and Technology of Hanoi, the technology has been applied quite widely in multi-storey building projects in Hanoi, helping to reduce about 20– 25 percent of building foundation floor compared to traditional methods. Moreover, the Company coordinates with other experts outside the university to establish understandable and useful processes and algorithms of enclosure design, top-down construction design, or semi top-down according to Vietnam’s condition. Along with that, the Company also pays close attention on designing and consulting for industrial construction and construction of bridges, highways, ports, hydro constructions, as well as other special projects and enjoys the trust of customers.
Thanks to these experiences, lectures in the University are very practical, giving generations of students the enthusiasm and passion for their career, contributing greatly to the mission of “planting people” of our country.
