Members of Vietnam Bank Card Association have decided not to collect on-us ATM transaction fees this year, heard the association’s 2012 annual meeting held in An Giang province.
Accordingly, the fee collection will ultimately be set by the State Bank of Vietnam which will take into consideration expenditure on ATM installations and maintenance to decide a reasonable fee. The implementation roadmap will be based on harmonious interest of card users and banks.
Themed “Security in card operations,” the meeting drew the interest of all member banks and highlighted experience from international card users like Visa and MasterCard, particularly risk management - a top concern in card operations which are attached to hi-tech architecture. This issue is now challenging Vietnamese bank card issuers.
