METALEX Vietnam - NEPCON Vietnam 2012 and the 5th Exhibition on Supporting Industries will be held in Ho Chi Minh City on October 4 – 6, 2012. This is an opportunity for enterprises to gain new knowledge of manufacturing trends and expand their business networks. This is also an opportunity to develop the Ho Chi Minh City on October 4 – 6, 2012. This is an Vietnam supporting industry.
According to economic experts, the underdeveloped supporting industry is a major obstacle for meeting the national targets in 2020: striving to make Vietnam an industrialised country. It is impossible to have a strong manufacturing industry without solid supporting industries.
In fact,at present, most supporting products manufactured by the state sector have poor quality and high prices (because of backward technology and poor management). They can be only consumed intra-state businesses. Meanwhile, supporting products produced by the private sector are still at a low level due to difficulties in capital and technology. Specifically, the process of international integration presents many challenges while the competitiveness of domestic enterprises is low. Small and medium enterprises are the majority, and they face the difficulties in management and human resources. The technological level of domestic enterprises is still low; slow implementation of innovation, technology application. Most supporting industries are not well developed and remain dependent on imported raw materials.
But experts believe in the growth potential of the supporting industries and that their development will foster Vietnam’s manufacturing sector and economy. At present, many foreign investors are strongly confident to invest in Vietnam. The continued foreign direct investment in Vietnam is proof that the manufacturing and supporting industries here not only have a bright future, but also play vital roles in the well-being of the economy.
1,200 Japanese companies currently operate in Vietnam, half of which are manufacturers, and they need locally sourced feedstock and parts to reduce costs. Manufacturers need raw materials, parts and subcomponents to make or assemble their final products. So they need various kinds of suppliers of raw material, subcomponents, and services. It is no wonder the government has put a lot of effort into developing the sector.
Mr Chainarong Limpkittisin, Managing Director of Reed Tradex said, “I personally believe in the growth potential of the supporting industries and how much their development will foster Vietnam’s manufacturing sector and economy. In the short term, Vietnam will give priority to manufacturing high-quality moulds, auto parts, motorcycle parts, electronic appliances, oil and gas equipment, steel products, ship components, and plastic products. The country will integrate more deeply into regional and global supply chains.”
As the most comprehensive machine tool and metalworking technology event, both METALEX Vietnam and NEPCON Vietnam are filled with content that Vietnam’s manufacturing and supporting industries can use to raise the level of their businesses. NEPCON Vietnam will be the only exhibition in Vietnam on assembly, measurement and testing technologies for electronics manufacturing with 200 brands from 25 countries. The shows will also feature quality technologies in international pavilions from such countries as Singapore and Thailand. The visitors will also gain new knowledge and manufacturing trends in seminars and technology presentations, while expanding their business networks with assistance from Business Matchmaking and Agent Wanted services. In addition, visitors who are looking for industrial parts will find what they are looking for at the 5th Exhibition on Supporting Industries in Ho Chi Minh City.
The exhibitions can help strengthen the development of Vietnam’s manufacturing and supporting industries. Now, both exhibitions have grown strong and become successful in helping to speed up that development, said Mr Chainarong Limpkittisin.
