Vietnam-UK Education Partnership Workshop Opens in Hanoi

 The Vietnam-UK education partnership workshop opened in Hanoi on June 22, creating another opportunity for both sides’ educators to learn about transnational education partnership.

 

The one day event is co-organized by the Vietnam National University-Hanoi, the British Council Vietnam and the University of Nottingham.

 

With two campuses in Asia including China and Malaysia, the University of Nottingham takes the opportunity to share their expertise and knowledge in creating international links throughout the three years’ operation of their partnership forum. While this would enrich the participating Vietnamese universities, representatives from Vietnamese institutions bring to the table their in-depth understanding of the local transnational education environment as well as the partnership opportunities in Vietnam. 

 

It also included group work in which participants are divided into smaller groups with each discussing a particular relevant subject, risks in transnational education and mitigation, how to write a Memorandum of Agreement, distance learning, guidance in choosing partners, and quality assurance issues.

 

Director of British Council Vietnam, Mr Robin Rickard, said: “The British Council has been very active in helping both UK and Vietnamese universities in setting up and running transnational education programs by brokering support, hosting seminars and workshops, and the organization of study tours”.

 

This workshop has continued to offer another interesting opportunity for all participants to explore the building of successful transnational partnerships in education with an excellent case study from the University of Nottingham.
