10 Vietnamese CIOs Awarded CIO ASEAN Awards 2012
International Data Group (IDG) and the CEO & CIO Club organised a ceremony in Hanoi on July 19, 2012 to grant CIO ASEAN Awards 2012. 10 Vietnamese CIOs were named.
The Organising Board for CIO ASEAN Awards received 88 nominations from regional countries since the award was launched five years ago. The jury had chosen 16 outstanding candidates for the award, in which 10 came from Vietnam.
The scope of this year ward had been expanded. Candidates were divided into two groups: public sector and business sector. Evaluation criteria this year were also updated in order to catch up with the enhancement of CIOs’ competences these days focusing on strategic vision, organisational skills, leadership skills, innovation and creativity. The highlight of this year award was “Social development and public service”. Therefore, candidates were evaluated based on not only their impacts inside their organisations but also their contributions to the society.
Together with the awarding ceremony, CIO Summit 2012 was organised with the topic “Developing technology on existing infrastructure or new one” in order to emphasise the roles of CIOs as well as pressures facing CIOs now.
