Vietnam, Sri Lanka Link Trade
The Sri Lanka Association of Real Estate and Industrial Investors led a Sri Lankan business delegation to visit Vietnam to seek opportunities and forge business relations. On this occasion, the Ho Chi Minh City Branch of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI - HCM) organise the "Vietnam - Sri Lanka Trade Exchange."
Mr Rohitha Thilakaratne, President of Association of Real Estate and Industrial Investors, said: Sri Lanka is implementing investment policies under two directions: Investing abroad and attracting foreign capital. This aims to enhance transparency and realisation of Sri Lanka’s potentials and strengths.
Mr Harish Tranebr, former senior advisor to Sri Lankan Minister of Commerce and Trade, said Sri Lanka is offering investment incentives, including tax preferences. The country has built special industrial zones and export processing zones for investors. This is a great opportunity for Vietnamese businesses to access and develop successfully in this potential market.
At the event, businesses of both countries exchanged information, sought partners and cooperated in investment and trade. According to Vietnamese businesses, this is a real opportunity to enhance operating capacity and establish long term partnerships with Sri Lankan businesses.
