Cau Tre export processing enterprise is a well-known exporter of processed agricultural products and aquaproducts in Vietnam. With a long history, Cau Tre has become an increasingly reliable supplier to its international clients. High quality products of Cau Tre are now available in 19 countries including Europe, ASEAN, Japan, Korea, and the U.S. 

Cau Tre has successfully increased the proportion of processed products in its export offerings. The company has invested in new technology to meet increased demands in quality, food safety, packaging and environment protection standards. The company is one of the first to apply an IQF production line in aquaproduct processing, applies advanced waste water treatment technologies, and is credited with the management system of ISO 9001 and HACCP. In addition to its investment in equipment and standards, Cau Tre has applied new product techniques such as adding aroma to teas. Jasmine, lotus, ginger and saffron teas are special products among its export base. In aquaproducts, Cau Tre has developed and marketed an array of processed items such as squid, sushi, and spring rolls.

As a result of the move to value-added processed products, the enterprise has increased its profits and employees’ income. The diversification of products has also strengthened the traditional client base as well as attracting new clients.

The company continues to improve its image by maintaining business credibility at all stages, from the purchase of materials right through to the export of processed commodities. Clients and partners are fully satisfied with on-schedule deliveries and compliance with business agreements. As a result, the export value of Cau Tre is increasing year-on-year. In 2003, the export value posted US$15 million. In the first half of 2004 alone, it attained US$7 million.

In recent years, Cau Tre has also expanded in the domestic market, obtaining a significant market share. Cau Tre products are now available in almost all local markets and supermarkets. Over six successive years, Cau Tre has been nominated by customers as providing high quality Vietnamese products. The turnover of local consumption in 2003 was over VND48 billion, an almost 120 per cent increase from 2002.

To continue its success in 2004, Cau Tre is developing projects for tea and jasmine plantations in the provinces of Lam Dong, Phu Tho, Ha Giang and Tien Giang, and aquaproduct processing ventures in Quang Ninh, Tay Ninh, Binh Phuong and Hanoi, to ensure a regular supply of materials to expand its production. The company has also expanded into the instant food market to make full use of its production capabilities.
