METALEX Vietnam –NEPCON Vietnam and The 5th Exhibition on Supporting Industries in Ho Chi Minh City are 100% ready to support Vietnam’s supporting industry, announced Reed Tradex together with JETRO Ho Chi Minh Office and the Investment & Trade Promotion Centre of Ho Chi Minh City (ITPC) on September 11, 2012.
Mr. Hirotaka Yasuzumi, Managing Director of Japan External Trade Organization, Ho Chi Minh Office (JETRO) said that Vietnam is one of the promising countries for Japanese companies. By 2020, Vietnam will become an industrialized country with sufficient supplies of raw materials and basic fuels. Currently, Japanese are the biggest foreign investors in the country in terms of investment size, due to the advantages in low labor cost and a larger market. Japanese companies focus on components (e.g. small motors for the automotive industry’s export) and textiles. Vietnam has lower labor cost, and is suitable for marketing- or sales-based i.e. distribution outlets for Japanese products into Vietnam. We would like to urge Vietnamese SMEs to develop higher competitiveness for Japan’s investment expansion.
“This MEGA Show in October is a very important opportunity that industrialists, manufacturers and businessmen in Vietnam should not miss. For the 5th Exhibition on Supporting Industries in HCMC, up to 53 Japanese companies expect to “purchase” parts and accessories in Vietnam and 50 Vietnamese companies expect to “provide” parts and accessories to potential buyers.
In the JETRO Exhibition, to be co-located with METALEX –NEPCON Vietnam, there will be over 100 companies mainly in automobile, motorcycle and electronics parts manufacturing industries. Half of them are Japanese companies in Vietnam and come directly from Japan, while the other half are local joint ventures. This is the chance for companies to find the right machinery and solutions for their production upgrade, sourcing new subcontractors, selling their parts to 53 Japanese buyers and manufacturers and more, becoming representative of global brands, learning new knowledge in seminars & Technology presentation…
Ms. Pho Nam Phuong, Director, Investment & Trade Promotion Centre (ITPC) said that the 5th "Exhibition on Supporting Industries in Ho Chi Minh City" is focused on parts and accessories. The participants are Japanese companies who expect to purchase parts and accessories in Vietnam and Vietnamese companies who expect to provide parts and accessories for Japanese and other companies (such as Taiwanese and Korean…).
Japanese companies will exhibit parts which they want to purchase; we call this style of exhibit as “Reverse Exhibition”. Meanwhile, Vietnamese companies will exhibit products which they can manufacture and supply. This includes all kinds of parts: 2 Wheels and 4 wheel vehicle parts; Electric and electronic accessories; Mechanic parts; Metal and plastic outwork (foundry, forging, plastic injection, mould, sheet metal works, plastic processing and plating), Packaging materials and other parts and accessories.

“The combination of three expos will create an all-under-one-roof meeting center for the manufacturing community. Buyers and sellers would meet, exchange knowledge and ideas, discover technologies, and develop business networks. So companies who expect to purchase Vietnamese parts and accessories or companies who expect to provide parts and accessories for Japanese companies, and anyone who is interested in new technologies are welcome to join. This widely opens doors for Vietnamese manufacturers to network with Japanese industrialists for machinery import production, and to urge Vietnamese small-to-medium enterprises to develop higher competitiveness to prepare for Japan’s investment expansion.
