The Ministry of Finance (MoF) of Vietnam and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) will launch a seminar on Japanese experience on Non-Performing Loan (NPL) disposal on September 17 in Hanoi.

This marks the second activity of the renewed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between MoF and JICA, as fast-track support for MoF to build a debt disposal regime as required under PM Decision 929 on State-owned enterprise (SoE) restructuring.

This seminar is to help explore questions like “What should be done in the process of setting up NPL disposal framework and its implementation?”, “What is the role of Government and related agencies in financial safety net for enterprise restructuring and revitalization?”, with Mr Kotegawa Daisuke to share the experience of Japan in tackling bad debts and revitalizing the economy. He is one of founders of IRCJ (Industrial Revitalization Corporation of Japan), which is the key agency tackling the bad debts and industrial revitalization in Japan.

Under this and other frameworks, JICA has been contributing to seminars for the topic of the bubble economy and NPL disposal, which are held by MoF and draw the participation of related stakeholders.
