During the first 6 months of 2012, in the hard context of inflation, high interest rates, and continuously decreasing rice price, thanks to the direction of Vietnam Southern Food Corporation, keen intelligence of the Management Board, especially the solidarity and morale to overcome challenges of the whole staff, Soc Trang Food Company (SOCTRANG FOOD) still managed to reach its goals. Given its actions for the sake of both the company and people, SOCTRANG FOOD has continued to affirm its position as a trustworthy companion to farmers and one of the leading enterprises trading food in Soc Trang province.
In order to improve rice production and reserve capacity, SOCTRANG FOOD has continuously improved equipment, replacing outdated equipment with modern ones of the latest technology. Additionally, the Company is on its way to build 2 large food warehouses in key provincial rice planting districts in the shadow of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development’s program, each of which has capacity of 30,000 tonnes/year. This is the closed system with the source technology and modern equipment, from warehouse system, millers, husk removers, whitener, shining tools to colour analyzing and packing machines. At present, the company has conducted ground breaking and started construction of Nga Nam Food Warehouse, which will open operation in January 2013; and prepared to start the construction of Long Phu Food Warehouse.

In addition to efforts to modernize infrastructure and equipment, the Company has focused on building up the material zone and consuming products for qualified partners such as farms, cooperatives, groups, and enterprises. Especially, the company will well exploit the brand of ST rice – high quality rice brand of Soc Trang in the world market, aiming at consuming products for some provincial zones specialized in ST rice.
