Phong Phu Home Textile Joint Stock Company is a member of Phong Phu Textile Corporation; mainly involved in producing and trading towels, bathrobes and related products. The company also extends its activities to trade fabrics, sewing threads, clothes, raw and ancillary materials of the textile and garment industry, cotton, fibre, dyes, machines and equipment.
In the domestic market, Phong Phu Home Textile’s brand of Mollis towels accounts for the largest market share in Vietnamese supermarkets across the country, of which 50 percent are Big C. With elegant, sophisticated and chic style and high rank material, Mollis has quickly met the needs of demanding consumers.
In 2011, despite difficulties and challenges caused by financial crisis and economic depression, the Company still confidently overcame obstacles, gaining turnover of VND766.6 billion, profit of VND 45.4 billion, export value of US$18 million, and dividend payout ratio of 30 percent.
At present, exports are still the spearhead which helps Phong Phu Home Textile make its reputation in the world market. The Company’s main export markets with great buying power include Japan (85 percent), the United States and the EU.
Regarding business relationship with Japan only, General Director Pham Xuan Trinh shared that Phong Phu Home Textile now has about 40 regular Japanese customers who mainly consume cotton towels. Japanese partners are very demanding in product quality, which helps Phong Phu Home Textile in particular and Vietnamese enterprises exporting to this market in general be more prudent and serious in the whole production process, from input materials to finished products.
