SONADEZI Brand Name Shines

State-run SONADEZI has 23 member units engaged in infrastructure, residential and industrial estate, construction and material production, human resource training, and water supply. In Dong Nai province, the corporation developed 11 industrial parks, including 10 in Dong Nai province and one in Ba Ria - Vung Tau province. The firm manages 3,500 ha of industrial parks in Dong Nai province, accounting for 35 percent of the total area. Six IPs have been fully rented by investors and one was leased 90 percent of rentable area. In addition to advantages of synchronous infrastructures and convenient locations, SONADEZI’s IPs are highly appreciated by investors for the balance in investing and environmental protection by building wastewater treatment systems. Good handling of wastes, especially wastewater in industrial zones, helps tenants to obtain green brands to pass technical barriers in demanding markets.

 

To date, SONADEZI’s IPs in Dong Nai province have attracted 535 investment projects, including 382 FDI projects with a total committed capital of more than US$6 billion, of which US$3 billion has been disbursed. More than 50 projects have registered capital of US$10 million upwards, including FUJITSU, OLYMPUS, CP, Cargill, SANYO, SAMSUNG, SHELL, SONY, SHISHEIDO and NIKE. SONADEZI’s IPs housed nearly 47 percent of FDI projects and over 52 percent domestic investment projects in Dong Nai province. FDI capital in SONADEZI’s IPs makes up 48.6 percent of total investment in industrial zones in Dong Nai province. SONADEZI has created jobs for more than 200,000 workers out of 366,000 labourers in Dong Nai province-based industrial zones.

For this reason, in 2005, SONADEZI established and put into operation SONADEZI Technology and Administration College to train human resources for Dong Nai province and other localities in the southwest region. During the trade promotion programme in Japan from April 8 to 16, 2012, Dong Nai organised two investment promotion conferences Tokyo and Osaka in order to introduce and invite Japanese investors to seek investment opportunities in Dong Nai.
