Regarding quality as the golden key to unlock success, Habac Nitrogenous Fertilizer and Chemical Company Limited (HANICHEMCO) has made significant steps and confirmed its reputation and brand. In the current context, the management board has determined to make intensive investments and build high-quality human resources to survive, develop and contribute to the process of national industrialisation and modernisation.
Ha Bac fertilisers have long been familiar to farmers across the country, especially in the Red River Delta region, because of good quality and soil enrichment. Looking back on its development path, the company was the first producer of urea fertilisers in Vietnam (in 1975) when it ran a self-contained plant with a designed annual output of 100,000 tonnes, using coal from Hon Gai - Cam Pha mines. With nearly 40 years of experience, the company managed to pass through the toughest times to assert its brand name. In recent years, its production output is still rising and employee incomes have continuously increased. In 2011, average monthly income of an employee was more than VND10 million. It paid VND200 billion to the State Budget in the year.
Currently, the demand for fertilisers is sharply rising, owing to centralised commercial agricultural production. This is an opportunity for the company and its competitors to develop. Nonetheless, according to statistics, the production capacity of domestic firms meets only 40 percent of domestic urea fertiliser demand. Grasping the challenging opportunity, the company has actively upgraded its production facilities to boost annual output to 320,000 tonnes of urea fertilisers, bringing total production capacity to 500,000 tonnes a year.
General Director Do Doan Hung said: "We pro-actively introduce practical solutions for specific periods. Specifically, in the 2011 - 2015 period, the company will complete a production factory expansion project. The new production lines will start operation in May 2014 and sell products to the market by January 2015. Apart from renovating technologies, the company also takes the full use of old production lines. In the 2016 - 2020 period, we will bring all production facilities into full play after the complete upgrade.”
In addition to urea fertilisers, Habac Nitrogenous Fertilizer and Chemical Company Limited also manufactures a variety of products like liquefied ammonia (NH3) ammonia solutions, liquid and solid carbon dioxide, and others. Its products are highly appreciated by consumers. Recently, the firm completed construction of Hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) production lines with an annual output capacity of 10,000 tonnes. Notably, its advanced, environment-friendly and energy-efficient technologies are carefully selected from developed countries like Italy, the Netherlands, Germany and Denmark, including technologies for urea synthesis, dust coal gasification, gas purification and ammonia synthesis.
The company’s products are very prestigious in the Vietnamese market. Its contributions to the country have been recognised by noble titles and awards from the Party and the State, including Second and Third Grade Labour Orders, Third Grade Independence Order, ISO Gold Cup, Vietnam Technology Gold Cup, and Farmers’ Friend Brand Title.
