TNK Vietnam to Provide VND 2.1 Billion for Social Investment in Vietnam in 2012

TNK Vietnam, on 29th August, announced that the company will provide VND2.1 billion to support four community investment projects focused on healthcare, education and training projects in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City in 2012.
 
The projects will include funding heart surgeries for underprivileged patients, granting awards for mining and geology students to perform scientific research, granting scholarship for outstanding students and providing safety helmets for children.
 
Preparatory work has already been undertaken in coordination with the Sponsoring Association for Poor Patients in Ho Chi Minh City and heart hospitals in the city, in which sponsored heart surgeries will be conducted for about 30 patients who otherwise could not afford treatment.
 
The second project is to support 10 groups of students of the Hanoi University of Mining and Geology to perform scientific research to build their skills and confidence to pursue higher studies and future career development.
 
In the third social project, TNK Vietnam will coordinate with the HCM City’s Association for Promoting Educational Development to award scholarships to 190 first-year students who achieve good entrance exams results but encounter financial difficulties.
 
In the fourth project, the company will work together with the HCM City Department of Education and Training to organize road safety sessions and provide safety helmets for approximately 1,200 school children in the city.
