Seafood Exporters Must Renew Registration with US FDA from Oct 1

The Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP) said all seafood facilities required to register must renew their registrations with the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) from October 1 to December, 2012 to meet the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA). Seafood exporters to the US market must register twice a year.

 

FSMA aims to prevent threats and diseases caused by food and demand greater responsibility from importers regarding their products.

 

To fulfil this objective, FSMA requires all food production facilities to submit registrations to FDA containing the new information added by section 102 of FSMA.
