Providing high-quality labour force for the tourism industry
Being aware of the needs for high-skill labour force in the tourism and hotel industry of central Vietnam in general and Danang in particular, KinderWorld Education Group has mapped out the plan to invest in the building of the Pegasus International University (PIU) in Danang city. This university is aimed at providing diversified training courses to meet the requirement for a high-skill labour force in the tourism and hotel industry. Courses in tourism and hospitality management are taught in both Vietnamese and English at PIU and certified by many prestigious education organizations in the world. In addition, course content combines theory and practice.
Along with courses of tourism and hospitality management are short-term training programs. Those coherently structured courses last 9 weeks, providing learners with basic skills to work in the hotel and food industry. Besides, PIU also designs and offers specialised training programs, for instance the Recognition of Previous Learning program, and Enterprises Development program in accordance with the need to develop the labour force with specific characteristics for each enterprises and/or tourism service of central Vietnam, and Danang in particular.
“To make the PIU project work efficiently and supply a high-skill labour force for tourism in the central region and Danang, we need recommendations and support from related agencies to build a bridge between PIU and enterprises in the hotel and resort field using that labour force, with a view to enhancing the quality of the labour force,” said General Principal Deborah Howard. Besides, the Recognition of Previous Learning program for labourers working in tourism, hotel and commercial cooking industry aimed at enhancing their skills and evaluated by equivalent international certification issued by PIU will be a useful tool for employers to increase their employees’ capacity.
