Export of Agro-Forestry, Aquatic Products Reaches US$22.5 Billion in Jan-Oct

Export value of agricultural, forest and seafood products reached US$2.25 billion in October 2012, totalling US$22.5 billion in the first 10 months, up 9.5 per cent from a year ago, said the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.

 

The export value of agricultural commodities took the lead in the 10-month period with US$12.2 billion, up 7.7 per cent year on year; aquatic products raked in US$5 billion, up 1.7 per cent; and forestry products earned nearly US$4 billion, up 18.3 per cent. The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development said, except for rice and rubber, exportation tends to rise in agricultural, forest and seafood products from January to October.
