GOVERNMENTWARE 2012 – Proactive Strategy Against APT

21st GovernmentWare, Singapore infocomm security seminar and exhibition was held in Singapore from September 25 to 27. The event was presented by the Ministry of Home Affair (MHA) in association with Image Engine Pte Ltd. With the theme "Proactive Strategy Against APT", GovernmentWare 2012 seeks to further reinforce the need for organizations to formulate a dynamic strategy in outwitting cyber adversaries. Participants were given an overview in proactive strategies. solutions that they could adopt to improve the level of operational readiness against potential cyber-attacks.

According to Mr. Ian Monteiro – Executive Director of Image Engine Pte Ltd, since 1991, GovernmentWare have evolved into a prominent event that attracts regional participants from China, USA and Europe. Known cyber authorities reknown experts from MNC exchange views during seminar and closed doors session. French company, Oberthur technologies Singapore has introduced their invented machine that produce credit card instantly within impressively five minutes processing. Oberthur also established new technologies in making secured passport, identity card, driving license with distinguished features.  Mr Ken Lim from PCS SECURITY delivered information on secure, reliable, innovative and state-of-the-art IT solutions for their customers: “Their expertise lies in the areas of Infocomm Technology Security, Homeland Security and Physical Security.  I was privileaged to have an exclusive interview with Mr Michael Stokes from Sypris Europe”.

More than 1000 vistors from private sectors, C level management and various ministries visited the event. During our interview with Mr Ian Monteiro organizer for GovernementWare 2013, he stated that with rapid technological change, Vietnam should be able to catch up with the diverse opportunities, create a sufficient network to collaborate and exchange ideal information within this industry. And Mr. Ian hopes for a new collaboration with Vietnamese participants for the next project of GovernementWare in the near future.
