Foreign Fruits, Vegetables Required to Register for Exportation in Vietnam
The Department of Agricultural, Forest and Aquatic Product Quality Management under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development has sent a written request to embassies of foreign countries in Vietnam, asking them to inform competent food authorities of their countries to complete registration documents for export of commodities with vegetation origin to Vietnam in accordance with the provisions of the Circular No. 13 of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.
Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Nguyen Thi Xuan, said, on December 31, Vietnam will halt importation of plant-originated commodities from countries without registration documents sent to Vietnam for approval. Currently, Vietnam is importing plant-originated goods from 59 countries and territories around the world but only 13 countries have so far been recognised for exportation to Vietnam.
