Agro-Export Needs more Investment
According to Mr Nguyen Thanh Son, Director of Agro-Export Company,
In 2004, AGREX Saigon has invested over VND700 million in Phu Nhuan enterprise for a production line of salted ginger and over VND900 million in Tan Thuan enterprises’ workplace and equipment. The company has also expanded its food processing enterprise with an investment of over VND20 billion to meet the demands of international economic integration. In the first nine months of 2004, the turnover of the company posted US$13,166,815 or 189.2 per cent more than the same period last year, including US$12.406,070 in export value (US$13.5 million expected for the whole year) making up 97 per cent of the total production value of the company. The turnover in 2004 is expected to reach VND250 billion, with profit at VND3 billion or 133.3 per cent of the same period last year. The main products of the company are rice, coffee, pepper, frozen and processed aquaproducts (shrimp, crab, squid).
To ensure product quality, the company has applied the quality control management system ISO 9001:2000 and HACCP certification. The company continues to develop its trademark, expand its markets and maintains its foothold in the process of international economic integration.
