AEBF IX Facilitating Asian, European Enterprises

The ninth Asia-Europe Business Forum (AEBF IX) held on October 7-8 in Hanoi attracted over 300 Asian and European entrepreneurs engaging in the seven working groups of trade, investment-infrastructure, financial service, information and communication technologies, food, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and tourism. The last group is arranged at the initiative of Vietnam.

Nguyen Bao, Deputy Directory of the Trade Ministry's Trade Promotion Department and head of the AEBF IX's Organising Committee said, compared to 160 entrepreneurs joining the AEBF VIII in Seoul in 2003, the number reflects the importance of the forum as well as the business community's increased interest.

Deputy Trade Ministry Tran Duc Minh said AEBF IX will offer a good opportunity for domestic business people to learn from their international partners and for foreign entrepreneurs to explore the Vietnamese business environment.

The forum will also give entrepreneurs a chance to meet with heads of states to express their ideas and listen to their counterparts from Asian and European countries about the advantages and disadvantages of doing business in their respective countries and in Vietnam.
