After more than 20 years of development, Vung Tau Urban and Parks Development Joint Stock Company (UPC) has constantly reaped success and developed in all aspects to become a leading green park developer, making Vung Tau City greener, cleaner, nicer, and more modern.
UPC - formerly Vung Tau Green Park Company - went public in 2009. The company is mainly engaged in managing, caring, protecting, maintaining, repairing, restoring and replanting green areas; performing scientific research; reproducing plants, flowers and ornamental plants; and constructing green parks and gardens. With the effort of the entire company, all projects it undertakes inside and outside the province are highly appreciated for progress, quality and aesthetics. The deepest impressions on visitors are possibly the Road 3/2 and 30/4 with the evergreen bougainvillea stretching a total length of 20 km. To create the colourful bougainvillea road, leaders and engineers of the company studied flower separator models in the country and in the world. After testing suitability to climate and soil, the company has covered the entire Road 3/2 with bougainvillea on separator lines, with hopea odorata, Osaka, oleander, rose mallow and other flowers to create a carpet of flowers welcoming guests to Vung Tau City.

UPC also plants a wide variety of flowers along streets, thus making Vung Tau a coastal city of sun, wind and flowers. Typical roads are Le Hong Phong Rose Street, Thuy Van Plumerias Road, and Road 51B with funny animals. In green parks and coastal belts, suitable trees are Boraginaceae tree, Thailand Plumerias, and Cassia fistula. Green areas and parks in Vung Tau deeply impress visitors and locals. The company increases the greenery in the city and helps regulate climate. In 1999, green areas in Vung Tau City planted only 5,000 trees but the number rose to 31,400 plants in 2012. Accordingly, UPC's revenue also increased year by year from VND5 billion in 2003 to VND135 billion in 2012 and profit also rose from VND300 million in 2003 to VND10 billion in 2012.

General Director Nguyen Duc Tai said these results are evidence of the excellent leadership of the Board of Directors and the Executive Board, and the adaptability and collective solidarity of employees before difficulties. In addition, the company always receives the support and guidance from the city government and local departments. To survive and develop in any circumstance, UPC pays special attention to human factors. Mindful that “Personnel is the decisive factor to the success of the company," UPC thus attaches great important to recruitment and training of personnel to form an elite force to lay the solid foundation for its business development. The company also applies attractive wage, promotion policies while creating a friendly working environment, updating new professional knowledge for employees, and motivating outperforming employees. Employee's children are financially supported for tertiary education.

He stressed "UPC feels proud and makes every effort to fulfil its responsibility and convey a message to all citizens “Join hands to build our city greener" by planting more trees at home, on streets, industrial parks and public places to improve living environment for people. UPC is eager to join hands with social communities to improve the surrounding environment for current and future generations."
