After the Lunar New Year holiday, the holiday weekend over 30th April – 1st May may be the holiday that most people are looking forward to. This year the holiday lasts five days, which is the longest 30th April holiday ever and is considered the "5 golden days" of the Vietnamese tourism industry. Many travel companies like Vietravel, Saigontourist, Redtour, Golden Desk & Convention have launched hundreds of tours with many new destinations and attractions.
According to the information by Hanoi Redtours, the number of visitors booking tours is very large. Besides, the occasion of this year also notes a new travel trend when many tourists choose nearby tours with various entertainment activities.
On travel forums, topics on exploring the country's places always attract members to discuss and share experiences. Most young travellers choose to explore scenic spots such as the Easternmost Dai Lanh or the westernmost Apachai, Fansipan trekking, the northeast and northwest areas of the country. Also they choose to explore the culture of ethnic groups in Ha Giang.
Others decide on destinations which are not too far and in little-known natural beaches such as Quan Lan (Quang Ninh) or Hai Hoa (Thanh Hoa).
However, the most crowded place on the holiday of 30th April may be the coastal city of Da Nang, because this is where the international fireworks festival will take place. In addition, the beaches of Ha Long Bay, Cua Lo also welcome a large number of tourists since festivals are held there. The beautiful waters of Nha Trang, Mui Ne and Phu Quoc are still chosen by numerous tourists for good travel services.
Many northern tourists choose road tours to Ha Giang, Cao Bang or Moc Chau because the tour price is not high compared with that on weekdays. The tour by air increased by about 10 percent, of which a majority choose to travel to Da Nang and Nha Trang.
At key tourist attractions in Quang Ninh province, Lao Cai, Da Nang and Khanh Hoa, the hotels are almost fully booked, and air tickets are also limited. At Phu Quoc, hotels usually are overloaded so in holidays, those hotels are facing even more stress. As a result, many travel companies are forced to sign booking contract.
Tourists still choose regular tours to Hong Kong and Thailand. Some new tours to Hong Kong - Macau, Taiwan, Japan and Dubai are also chosen due to long vacation and tour prices which are much lower than before, up to 20-30 percent.
To avoid expensive prices, according to the representative of the Golden Tour & Convention, travellers should arrange travel plans early and select reputed service provider. Otherwise, they will have to bear high prices and low service quality.
