Vietnam Wins 7 “The Mekong Women’s Entrepreneurship Challenge” Awards
The Vietnam Women Entrepreneurs Council under the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) recently announced winners of Mekong Women's Entrepreneurship Challenge. The award is presented by the Emerging Markets Consulting Organisation (EMC).
According to the Organisation Board, Vietnam won seven awards, including two special awards which include US$7,000 trip to attend the Fifth Global Forum on “Innovation and Entrepreneurship” in South Africa and five other awards with US$2,000 cash prize for business expansion initiatives proposed at the contest.
The Mekong Women’s Entrepreneurship Challenge Award is aimed at encouraging the growth of women-owned enterprises in the Mekong region. The challenge is carried out in Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam. In Vietnam, the Vietnam Women Entrepreneurs Council was chosen to be the official partner to introduce and implement this programme. Nearly 100 women entrepreneurs participated in the competition.
