Nugen Biotech Vietnam Invests in Southern Hi-tech Zone
Nugen Biotech Vietnam has become the first company to be permitted to invest in biotechnology in Vietnam as it received an investment license into the Saigon Hi-tech Park (SHTP) on October 21.
Nugen Biotech will build a 4,400 sq.m-plant with modern bio-technology line which has been applied in the US and Europe for nearly one year. With an initial legal capital of US$1 million (in the first 18 months), it will specialise in producing quick test tools for some fatal diseases like hepatitis B, HIV, cancer, malaria, and tuberculosis, and addictive substances as well as reproductive abilities like pregnancy, ovulation and menopause.
The products will be exported to Asian markets, especially those in East Asia such as China and Thailand. Nugen Biotech's made-in-America products are now present in Vietnam.
Biotechnology is one of four hi-tech fields being encouraged in the SHTP.
