Agricultural Exports Top US$2.39 Billion in July

The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development said the export value of agricultural, forest and aquatic products reached US$2.39 billion in July, totalling US$15.59 billion in the first seven months of 2013, down 1.6 percent against the corresponding period of 2012.
 
Agricultural products raked in US$7.84 billion in the reporting period, down 11.9 percent. Seafood export turnover was US$3.41 billion, up 0.7 percent. The export revenue of forest products was US$3.05 billion, up 12.2 percent.
 
Notably, woodwork exports brought in US$447 million in July, grossing over US$2.9 billion in the first seven months of 2013, up 12.3 percent.
 
The volume and value of exported agricultural products declined this year, particularly coffee and cassava. Coffee export reached 93,000 tonnes worth US$200 million in July.
