VAIP Sets up ICT Institute for People

On July 31, 2013 in Hanoi, the Vietnam Association for Information Processing (VAIP) officially launched the Institute of Information and Communications Technology for People (ICT4P) located at 14 Tran Hung Dao Street, Hoan Kiem District, Hanoi.
Speaking at the inaugural ceremony, Hoang Quoc Lap, Director of ICT4P, said, the VAIP-affiliated institute aims to attract and gather all domestic and foreign ICT organisations and individuals to participate in its activities, and raise the domestic and global prestige and position of VAIP and its member associations.
The institute consults, appraises and criticises tasks, programmes and projects; takes part in ICT policymaking; conducts ICT science and technology researches; builds ICT solutions, in-depth technology and knowledge, and supplies ICT services.
By 2015, the institute will cooperate with the relevant authorities (informatics centres, departments, ministries, and associations) to improve consulting, supervising, inspecting and criticising activities for ICT tasks, programmes and projects deployed by ministries, localities, businesses and organizations; cooperate with other domestic and foreign organisations to study and contribute to ICT policymaking, technology transfer and knowledge training.
