Ornamental Fish Exports See High Prospects

The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development said Ho Chi Minh City exported more than 7 million fish in the first nine months of 2013, up 3.5 percent year on year. Total fish population in the city now has reached more than 63 million heads, an increase of 14.5 percent over the same period of 2012.

 

The strong rise in ornamental fish export is attributed to more effective trade promotion performed by enterprises. The United States and Canada are two major markets for Vietnam’s ornamental fish.
