A Photo Exhibition on “40 years of Vietnam – UK relations: From the Past to the Future” was jointly organised by the British Consulate General and Vietnam News Agency on October 4 - 12, 2013 in Ho Chi Minh City. On display were nearly 100 photos, depicting the important milestones in the relations between two countries over the past 40 years, which have laid a firm foundation for longer term relations, especially after Vietnam and the UK signed the Strategic Partnership Agreement back in 2010.

Also on display were images of “UK: Its land and people” through the eyes of three Vietnamese reporters and a high school student.

Mr Douglas Barnes, British Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City said: “The themes of our programme marked the 40th years of our relations. They are Inspire – Learn – Innovation. We hope that this exhibition of the past relations will inspire the development of people to people links, thus strengthening our partnership in the future.”

This exhibition was to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the UK – Vietnam diplomatic relations. It was also part of Great Week, which showcased the UK’ best products and services in three sectors: creative industries, retails and education/vocational skills. During Great Week, companies from Vietnam and the UK met and identify opportunities to do business and develop relationships for mutual benefit.
