Banks Appointed to Serve ADB-funded Projects
The State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) issued Decisions 2806, 2807, 2808, 2809/QD-NHNN to appoint four commercial banks as service banks for Asian Development Bank (ADB)-funded projects.
Accordingly, the Vietnam Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (Agribank) is appointed as the service bank for the Water Sector Investment Project in Thua Thien Hue province and Hai Phong City as part of the Vietnam Water Sector Development Programme. Lien Viet Post Joint Stock Commercial Bank (LienVietPost Bank) is named as the service bank for the Water Sector Investment Project in Danang City as part of the Vietnam Water Sector Development Programme. Vietnam Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Industry and Trade (Vietinbank) is appointed for the Water Sector Investment Project in Dak Lak, Quang Tri and Binh Duong provinces as part of the Vietnam Water Sector Development Programme. Vietnam Prosperity Joint Stock Commercial Bank (VPBank) is appointed for the Technical Assistance Programme of Livelihood Support for Corridor Towns in the Greater Mekong Sub-Region, Quang Tri province.
Under these decisions, the above banks are responsible for providing banking services to the projects in line with Decree No. 38/2013/ND-CP dated April 23, 2013 and the guidelines of SBV, the Ministry of Finance and the ADB.
