The prices of gold in Vietnam shot up VND110,000 to VND120,000 per tael (1.2 troy ounces) to fresh record highs November 17 following another steep rise of prices in the global gold market.
On Wednesday, gold traders in capital Hanoi and central Danang city were selling a tael of 24k gold for a record VND8.53 million ($543.3). In southern Ho Chi Minh City and Can Tho city, gold was slightly lower at VND8.52 million per tael.
