Recently, the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) and Vietnam Women's Union held a ceremony to present the Golden Rose Cup Award to 100 exemplary female entrepreneurs of Vietnam in 2013.
The selection for the Golden Rose Cup Award 2013 is based on two criteria; the performance of firms and entrepreneurs, with particular focus on production stability, sustainable development as well as sales growth in three consecutive years from 2011 to 2013.
Speaking at the ceremony, Dr Vu Tien Loc, President of VCCI, stressed that businesswomen accounted for one quarter of the country's total entrepreneurs. With intelligence, creativity, diligence, patience, toughness and compassion, Vietnamese businesswomen have been successful in many business areas. In the context of a difficult economy, firms led by women have gradually restructured production apparatus, oriented and chose appropriate investment directions to increase production efficiency.
“The award is of great meaning which acknowledges the remarkable efforts and success of women entrepreneurs in running businesses, especially during tough economic times" said VCCI President Loc.
On this occasion, Vice State President Nguyen Thi Doan sent the exemplary Vietnamese businesswomen of 2013 a congratulations letter in which she appreciated the improvement of enterprises led by women in 2013 – the year that the Vietnam economy faced many difficulties and challenges due to the influence of the global economic crisis, cut-throat competitive market, natural disasters , floods and epidemics.
"Particularly, many businesses owned by women, with strong determination and creativity dared to confront difficulties to affirm their social position. Women entrepreneurs are like blooming spring roses".
Golden Rose Cup 2013 was awarded to 100 women entrepreneurs who well performed in running businesses in all economic sectors with the aim of contributing to Vietnam’s socio-economic development and improving workers’ lives.
