The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) and the Justice Partnership Programme (JPP) recently launched the Resource Guide on Judicial Integrity and Capacity (in Vietnamese language).

The Guide provides practical information on how to build and maintain an impartial, transparent, and efficient justice system. The Guide has reference to successful measures taken in a range of countries to strengthen the JPP system. It offers recommendations, key ideas and case studies for reform strategies and implementation of action plans.

Ms Zhuldyz Akisheva, Country Manager of UNODC in Vietnam, said that the judiciary system plays an increasingly important role in protecting the rights of people seeking justice. This Guide will be a useful and timely resource material for the justice system in Vietnam. As the Guide reflects good practices and lessons learned from a wide range of countries, Vietnam can select those that are more relevant to its national context.

This important Guide book was developed by UNODC in cooperation with the Rule of Law Initiative Project of the American Bar Association and the Research Institute on Judicial Systems (IRSIG-CNR) and the Intergovernmental Expert Group, with the support of the German Agency for Technical Cooperation and the Governments of Norway and Sweden.
