Forbes Vietnam, the Vietnamese edition of International Forbes Magazine, has announced the list of the Top 50 listed companies in Vietnam in the June 2014 issue.

Surpassing other large State-owned commercial banks, the Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam (Vietcombank) has become the only representative to make the Forbes list for two straight years.
On the Forbes list are listed firms with outstanding performance, leading positions in the market, and big profits for investors. As of April 25, 2014, the combined market capitalisation of these 50 companies reached VND741 trillion, accounting for 65 percent of the total market cap on Vietnam’s stock exchanges.

With revenue of VND31.04 trillion (US$1.5 billion) and market cap of VND67.2 trillion (US$3.3 billion), Forbes assessed that Vietcombank is known for its increased trust amongst corporate customers, international payment and trade, and domestic retail market expansion. With the growing care for retail banking as Forbes assessed, Vietcombank was named the “Best Retail Bank in Vietnam 2014” by the Asian Banker Magazine, with an awards ceremony held in Australia in April 2014.
