Germany Supports Vietnam to Mitigate Climate Change

The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment of Vietnam and the Germany Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) officially launched a project supporting the Nationally Appropriate Mitigation Actions (NAMAs) in Vietnam. The project is part of the International Climate Initiative (IKI) supported by the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety (BMUB). The project duration is four years (2014-2018) with a total budget of EUR4 million. The overall aim of the project is to strengthen State management in response to climate change through coordination and consultation, develop and implement the NAMAs including measurement, reporting and verification (MRV) and attract domestic and international funding.
To achieve its objectives, the project will focus on four components, including: Strengthening the capacity and institution on effective coordination and consultation NAMA; identifying, developing and coordinating in NAMA.
