Government Provides 15 per cent Financial Support for Purchasing Ten Airbus 

On November 23 the Prime Minister gave the go ahead to provide 15 per cent of the fund to buy ten Airbus A321 airplanes which is estimated at US$625.2 million.

The other 85 per cent for the project, whose investor is the national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines will come from export and trade credits.

Vietnam Airlines will negotiate to buy directly from Airbus in the form of assigning contracts. The first A321 will arrive in Vietnam in early 2006, the second in July 2006 while the next four are to be bought in early and late 2007. The rest will be present in Vietnam in 2008 and 2009. The Government will also provide free guarantees for the purchasing through the Ministry of Finance.
