Prospects for Agro-fishery Markets and Agricultural Materials in Mekong Delta

To assist the business community to identify movements of agricultural commodity market and future trends, the Can Tho Branch of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI - Can Tho) collaborates with the Vietnam Market Analysis and Forecast Joint Stock Company (AgroMonitor) to organise a workshop on “Prospects for Agro-fishery Markets and Agricultural materials in Mekong Delta” on August 14, 2014.

 

Attendants will hear presentations on rice, fertiliser, animal feed, fish and shrimp markets from AgroMonitor analysts; receive updates on prices, trade by category, market and ship information from AgroMonitor; and access AgroMonitor historical data and insight analyses.

 

Mekong Delta is a major producer and exporter of agricultural and aquatic products of Vietnam. This region accounts for over more than 70 percent of rice export and more than 50 percent of aquatic export value of the country. This is the most important fertiliser and animal feed market. However, the agricultural export - import and agricultural material market is facing serious difficulties because of global market volatility, macroeconomic instability and uncertainty in the Chinese market. More than ever, market unpredictability poses challenges not only to exporters, but also to local businesses.
