Deputy PM Welcomes VN-Japan Special Ambassador
Deputy PM and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh on September 4 hosted a reception for Special Ambassador between Vietnam and Japan, Sugi Ryotaro.
At a reception, the Deputy PM applauded Sugi's practical contributions to the development of the Vietnam-Japan friendship and cooperation over the past 20 years.
He acknowledged the guest's active role as Special Ambassador between Vietnam and Japan as well as his great efforts to boost collaboration between the two countries in the celebration of Vietnam-Japan Friendship Year 2013.
He said he hopes Sugi will continue to make practical contributions to the enhancement of the Vietnamese-Japanese strategic partnership forward in the future.
For his part, Sugi Ryotaro thanked the Government of Vietnam for extending the term of a special ambassador through 2016, promising to continue his utmost efforts to further strengthen the friendly and cooperative relations, especially in cultural cooperation and people-to-people exchanges.
Mr Sugi also told Deputy PM Binh Minh about a plan to build a Japan-Vietnam music television program and some other activities aimed at bolstering future cultural cooperation.
