VietJet Aviation Joint Stock Company and Vladivostok International Airport in eastern Russia, on September 6, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) that will pave the way for the new-age airline to open direct flights from Vietnam to Vladivostok.

The MOU was signed during the 17th meeting of the Intergovernmental Committee for Vietnam – Russia, which aims to foster bilateral trade and promote science and technology between the two countries. Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai and his Russian counterpart Igor Shuvalov attended this historic meeting.

Vietnam is a hugely popular travel destination for Russian tourists who flock to the country’s beautiful beaches as well as major cities such as Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City throughout the year. A new route connecting Vietnam and Russia will undoubtedly boost trade relations and tourism flows between the countries.

Besides planning new routes linking Vladivostok to popular hubs in Vietnam, VietJet will continue to expand its network throughout the ASEAN region. VietJet is already in a position to offer Russian tourists connecting flights to Singapore, South Korea and Thailand from Vietnam and more destinations will soon be added, including a flight to Siem Reap in Cambodia.

Billed as a new age airline that is known for its modern, friendly and dynamic image, VietJet now boasts a domestic and international network of 27 destinations. All flights are operated by the very latest Airbus A320 aircrafts.

The airline, which offers high quality flights for the best possible prices, maintains the highest standards of safety and punctuality. With a motto of “Enjoy Flying”, VietJet also regularly runs incredible promotions to every destination across its network.
