A ceremony in honour of 24 outstanding businesses in the northern coastal region was organised at Viet Tiep Labour Culture Palace, Hai Phong on October 8, 2014 on the 10th anniversary of the Vietnam Entrepreneurs Day (October 13, 2004-2014). This event was hosted by the Hai Phong Branch of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI Hai Phong) in cooperation with Hai Phong Television.

Shortly after Vietnam was founded, President Ho Chi Minh sent a letter to all businesspeople across the country on October 13, 1945. It read “While other circles among the people are making efforts to seize the absolute independence for the country, the industrialist and commercialist circle must work to build the stable and prosperous economy. The Government, the people and I will dedicatedly help the industrialist and commercialist circle in their mission.” Upholding the ideology and spirit of Uncle Ho, VCCI Hai Phong honoured and presented awards to outstanding entrepreneurs in the northern coastal area for the third time.

This is an opportunity for entrepreneurs to interact, exchange and establish business networks. The honouring ceremony is also the public recognition of entrepreneurs’ enormous contributions. It also inspires and encourages entrepreneurs to make every effort to overcome negative effects of global economic crisis, strive for the local, regional and national prosperity, and realise economic development objectives of the nation and the region.

VCCI Hai Phong honoured 24 typically excellent entrepreneurs from Hai Phong City, Quang Ninh, Thai Binh, Hung Yen and Hai Duong provinces for their efforts to lead their businesses through the tough time to sustainable development.

VCCI President Vu Tien Loc stressed businesspeople are defined as the primary driving force in the cause of national building and international integration. They have shown their virtue and resolve to difficulties and challenges to assert their positions and names not only in the country but also in far-reaching international markets. With their ocean-looking views, coastal entrepreneurs will be at the forefront in the cause of restructuring economy, improving competitiveness, and building coastal economic zones into key growth engines of the nation.
