Germany Grants Loan worth € 200 Mln for Vietnam’s Energy Sector
Secretary of State of Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development of Germany, Dr Friedrich Kitschelt recently paid a working visit to Vietnam. The visit was aimed to solidify the focus areas of cooperation namely the Vocational Training, Energy and Environment.
In the framework of the visit, Dr Friedrich Kitschelt signed a contract granting Vietnam a preferential loan with worth € 200 million, aiming to modernize the network transmission and distribution of electricity in medium and small cities in Vietnam. “Efficient use of energy is focusing on the field of green growth strategy in Vietnam. We believe that networks in technological innovation will reduce energy consumption, reduce CO2 emissions in the process of transmission, while ensuring the supply of electricity demands at low cost. Thereby, Germany has contributed significantly to secure supplies as well as regional economic development and environmental protection,” said Mr Kitschelt.
