VN, Iran Enhance Multi-Lateral Cooperation
Deputy PM and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh on March 17 welcomed Iran’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Ibrahim Rahimpour on the occasion of the Deputy Minister’s visit to Vietnam to join the sixth Vietnam-Iran political consultation from March 16-18.
The Deputy PM asserted that Vietnam attaches importance to the multi-lateral cooperation with Iran.
In the future, he supposed that the two countries need to accelerate the implementation of signed agreements, especially those reached during Deputy PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc’s visit to Iran in October 2014.
Deputy Minister Ibrahim Rahimpour highly valued Vietnam’s achievements in the national establishment and development, confirming that Iran attaches importance to the relationship with Vietnam.
He suggested Vietnam continue the cooperation with Iran in terms of trade and agriculture.
On this occasion, Mr Ibrahim Rahimpour conveyed the invitation of Iran’s President Hassan Rouhani to State President Truong Tan Sang to pay an official visit to Iran and sent a letter of Iran’s FM to invite Deputy PM Pham Binh Minh to join the Ministerial Meeting of the Non-Alignment Movement from June 9-10, 2015.
Earlier on the day, Deputy Minister Ibrahim Rahimpour held talks with his Vietnamese counterpart Vu Hong Nam in the framework of the sixth political consultation.
The two sides exchanged measures to enhance the multi-lateral linkage in politics-diplomacy, trade, agriculture, science-technology, education and training.
They were unanimous in exchanging delegations at all levels and continuing to closely cooperate at international forums.
In term of economics, the two officials agreed to strengthen exchanges between the two nations’ ministries, agencies and businesses to increase the two-way trade turnover in the coming years.
